Transport Equipment Network Appoints New Chief Operating Officer
Transport Equipment Network (TEN) announced the appointment of Ali Silki as Chief Operating Officer. Silki served as General Manager at Amazon Freight for nearly a decade, leading technology upgrades and smart trailer projects, and has entrepreneurial experience in IoT and navigation. He will be responsible for the company's operational modernization and service quality improvement.
According to a release by Transport Equipment Network (TEN)news release, former Amazon Freight general manager Ali Silky has officially joined the company as Chief Operating Officer.
The company stated that Silky's primary responsibility is to drive operational modernization, focusing on the application of data and AI technologies, while improving service delivery quality and overall operational efficiency.
TEN CEO Homan Yazari commented in the release: "Ali's ability to build and scale in transportation operations is unmatched by few in the industry."
Silky spent nearly a decade at Amazon, where he participated inmultiple technology upgrades, includingsensor-equipped smart trailersproject, which can effectively reduce downtime.
According to hisLinkedIn profile, Silky also co-founded Zubie, an IoT automotive company, and Altus Positioning Systems in the navigation field. Additionally, he led product development at Best Buy.
Silky said in the release: "What attracted me to TEN is a rare opportunity—to participate in building at a company that already has significant scale but is still in its early stages."
Similar to Amazon Freight's trailer fleet, TEN also has over 80,000 trailers and provides maintenance and fleet management services, with more than 45 service locations across North America.
Last year, Silky was a keynote speaker at FreightWaves' "F3: Future of Freight Festival," where heexplained how technology upgrades and incremental improvementscan help trailers, the industry's cornerstone, continuously improve over the years.
The COO position at TEN was previously held byNathan Smith, who also served as interim CEO for part of 2025 until Yazari took over in November of that year.
