Old Dominion Freight Line to develop $10M service center in Louisiana
Old Dominion Freight Line plans to develop a $10 million service center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, which will be equipped with 40 loading doors. The project received permits in May and was designed by Mollenkopf Design Group of Tennessee. The company also raised its full-year capital expenditure outlook to approximately $380 million, with $180 million allocated for real estate and service center expansion.
Old Dominion Freight Line is enhancing its presence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a new $10 million, 40-door cross-dock warehouse facility, according to a city database.
The LTL carrier received a permit in May for the project at 8601 Tom Drive, another city-affiliated database shows.
The company already has a presence in the city at 9762 S. Perdue Ave. that serves the Gulf Coast region and other areas, per its website. Its commercial property is worth millions of dollars, according to a city assessor database.
Project planning for the site has come through Mollenkopf Design Group. The Tennessee-based firm has assisted numerous LTL companies in developing trucking sites, such as Averitt, Saia and Southeastern Freight Lines.
With Old Dominion, that has included projects in Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas, according to the design group’s website.
After holding its projected capital expenditures steady in the beginning of the year, Old Dominion later raised its outlook by $115 million to approximately $380 million, according to its Q2 earnings presentation. That new amount includes $180 million for real estate and service center expansion projects, the company said, an increase from earlier projections.
