According toa press release, Arkansas-based entity UTAC is acquiring USA Truck and its subsidiaries, returning ownership to the company's traditional roots.

The press release stated that this transition "enables USA Truck to operate with greater speed, agility, and focus, prioritizing customer relationships, service reliability, and disciplined growth."

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, and DSV did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

USA Truck began in 1983 when Bob Powell and others acquired Crawford Produce. The company held its initial public offering in 1992.In 2022, shareholders of privately held DB Schenker approved an acquisition agreement.

USA Truck currently operates 1,800 tractors and 6,000 trailers, offering dedicated, intermodal, logistics, and other transportation services.

Other M&A deals are also starting the new year. The Oren family, which controlled Dart's transportation operations for over 90 years, has sold the company to a private investment firm in atransaction effective January 1.

PwC stated that such deals could accelerate due to broader macroeconomic changes. "Lower interest rates and a modest recovery in freight volumes are enabling buyers to revisit transactions that were previously paused during the cycle,"a report last monthsaid.
