Quarterhill lands $5M infrastructure contract in Oklahoma
Quarterhill has been awarded a $5.25 million contract by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to deploy an intelligent transportation system at a commercial vehicle facility on Interstate 35. The project, announced July 30, includes weigh-in-motion and electronic screening systems, and is part of a series of infrastructure wins for the company in 2026.

Work on the project is set to begin in August and will support Oklahoma’s efforts to modernize freight infrastructure as commercial vehicle traffic continues to grow, according to the release.
The deployment will equip the Interstate 35 inspection facility with the latest screening technologies intended to improve traffic flow, safety and freight efficiency.
“The project is representative of ODOT's continued investment in modernizing critical transportation infrastructure and the agency's confidence in our technology and expertise as a longstanding ITS partner," said Chuck Myers, CEO of Quarterhill, in the release.
The Oklahoma award adds to a string of transportation infrastructure contracts Quarterhill has announced in the first half of 2026:
- June: A $2.5 million contract with the Illinois Department of Transportation to install and maintain traffic data collection sites in Northeastern Illinois.
- May: A $6.3 million contract to deploy its automated, back-office and customer service tolling platform with the Utah Department of Transportation.
- March: Three commercial vehicle projects totaling $2.4 million to deploy weigh-in-motion data collection and commercial vehicle e-screening technology among California’s major freight corridors.
- March: A multiyear contract to support statewide traffic monitoring systems in New Jersey.
- March: A $6.4 million contract with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to install 15 weigh-in-motion stations and develop a commercial vehicle compliance software platform.
The steady flow of awards aligns with management’s expectations for continued demand from transportation agencies investing in intelligent infrastructure.
“We continue to evaluate a number of similar opportunities in our pipeline, which keep growing as more agencies are committing budgets to modernization,” Myers said during the company’s Q1 earnings call held May 14.
