Transport Equipment Network Appoints New Chief Operating Officer
Transport Equipment Network (TEN) announced the appointment of Ali Silki as Chief Operating Officer. Silki served as General Manager at Amazon Freight for nearly a decade, leading technology upgrades and smart trailer projects. He will be responsible for utilizing data and artificial intelligence to optimize operations and enhance service delivery efficiency. TEN CEO Hooman Yazhari highly recognized his industry experience.
According toa press release, former Amazon Freight general manager Ari Silkey has joined Transportation Equipment Network (TEN).
The company said Silkey's mission is to modernize operations, especially in data and AI applications, while improving service delivery and operational processes.
"Ari has built and scaled transportation businesses at a level few in the industry can match," TEN CEO Hooman Yazhari said in the press release.
Silkey worked at Amazon for nearly a decade,helping drive technology upgradessuch assensor-equipped smart trailersthat reduce downtime.
According tohis LinkedIn profile, he also co-founded Zubie, a company in the IoT automotive space, and Altus Positioning Systems in the navigation systems field. Silkey also led product development at Best Buy.
"What attracted me to TEN is a rare opportunity: to help build at a company that already operates at such scale but is still in its early stages," Silkey said in the press release.
Similar in scale to Amazon Freight's trailer fleet, TEN also owns more than 80,000 trailers. Additionally, TEN provides maintenance and fleet management services, with over 45 service locations across North America.
Last year, at FreightWaves' F3: Future of Freight Festival, Silkey served as a keynote speaker,describing how technology upgradesand incremental improvements have helped trailers—the backbone of the industry—evolve over the years.
The COO role at TENwas previously held byNathan Smith, who also served as the organization's interim CEO for part of 2025 until Yazhari took over in November.
