This announcement comes as Volvo Autonomous Solutions advances its commercialization plans. The company stated in June that it will achieve fully driverless operations on U.S. highways in the first quarter of 2027, with plans to operate more than 300 autonomous trucks by the end of next year.
Volvo Group's venture capital arm became a strategic investor in Waabi in January 2023, subsequently investing $200 million in the company.
